Food feels nasty....
OK.. wierd, unexpected problem. Been on soft foods for just over a week, and sometimes it just feels nasty. I got so used to the 'light' feeling of the liquids and purees I guess. I was SO looking forward to 'real' food again.. and I enjoy the taste, really I do. But after I eat, and it passes from the pouch into digestive tract, intestines, what have you.. it just feels like this big friggin lump laying there. I know it's because it's NOT digested.. but dang... I wasn't expecting it to feel like this.
It's a very uncomfortable, sickly feeling. I know we're not supposed to drink with food, but drinking a litlte bit (not gulps... just 'wetting the food' seems to help. Otherwise, I feel like a snake trying to pass a big ol rabbit along... and yes, I'm chewing til the food is pulverised and almost liquid!
. Does it go away?

I know your're not eating very much right now, but it sounds like you are still trying to eat too much at one time. Its a different ball game now and it takes a while to learn the the rules. And if you ignore the rules you get sick. chew, chew, chew. Try not drink with your meals. If you start doing that you won't lose weight as fast.
What? Too much? it was only 2 cheeseburgers and.. wait... no.. that was someone else...
Seriously, it can be as little as 2 bites and it sits like that. My guess was it's just my insides not being used to anything solid passing thru them for a while. I feel it til it's about half way down I'd guess.

Been there / done that, my friend. Even 17 months out, after lunch today, a simple bowl of soup, I just feel (don't do be too girly) gross.
It's just something we get used to. You'll learn what to eat that makes you feel good after eating it. Give it time.
Good luck buddy!
Glad to hear someone else went thru it. I was beginning to wonder if it was psychological.. LOL.. I know after losing weight on 600 calories worth of soup and fat free yogurt, 1000 calories of 'real food' feels like I"m pigging out...
The nutritionist says I need a lot more protein than the average person because of my size, and I'm having a hard time getting it in. She wants me to aim for over 100 grams a day

The bottom line is, the body LIKES liquids! And after a long time of nothing but liquids, liek you just had, the body learns that feeling.
So, I say agin, you will learn, with time, what foods your body enjoys.
Good luck!

Dale,
sometimes I still get that feeling 2 1/2 years out....
beleive it or not....chewing the food and getting the flavor, and then spitting it out, is a good middle step....
(still trying to lock the snake and rabbit image
you are the master of imagery
