A little love from my newspaper
Here is a link to an article that a local newspaper did on me. It only cost a bribe of $6,000 and lunch for a year.
I would say that the article is mostly correct with a few minor details that don't affect the content of the article. I actually used to make fun of the runners in high school, not college but I am not sure I made that clear to the author. I was a pretty serious thrower by college. Anyway, enjoy.

Hey Scott,
Thanks for the link to your story. I'm not (yet?) a runner--my knees aren't up to it--but I can relate to the joy of moving again after beig so huge. And I remember making fun of runners in high school and later, preferring strength sports. I guess I often confused bulk with power! Even now I have to catch myself when I see fit, trim older guys my age and tell my wife that I hope I don't shrivel up like them. They look puny and feeble to me to me, even though I ought to know better and even though they can probably kick my old you-know-what.
Guess the fat head lingers long after the bod has made big changes.
Thanks for the interesting and inspiring story.
Doug
