Hi everyone.  I just posted in the main forum.  I did not know that there was a mens forum.  I guess I should have looked around the site a little more.   I am scheduled for my lap RNY tomorrow morning at 0730.  I am nervous somewhat about the surgery as it is a big event.  I am more worried about my wife.  She is fully supportive of my surgery and such but... she said she is worried about me leaving her after I get thinner.  I have tried to assure her about my feelings for her and that I am not going anywhere.  Any of you guys go through anything similar?   At my highest weight which occurred right before I met with the surgeon, I weighed 304.  I have dome my 10 pre surgery diet and I have dropped down to 284.  I am hoping to go down to 190ish.   I am looking forward to the new life I am beginning.  Hopefully one that will allow me to be free from high blood pressure, sleep apnea, pre diabetes. Thanks for letting share a little. Steve S.

Hi Steve, Glad you found this forum, welcome. It's only natural for your wife to worry. Big changes, even good ones, can be scary. Worry in cases like this is a sign of caring. Good luck tomorrow and check in with us when you feel up to it. You're beginning a great journey!

Welcome to the board Steve and best of luck tomorrow.  You're gonna do fine and before you know it you will be suffering through the liquid diet.  :)  That's the worst part and after you graduate to softish foods it will be smooth sailing.  Just keep telling yourself every day that "It's gonna be better tomorrow."

Once again best of luck!

Hi Steve and good luck tomorrow.  Hi everyone else, I am new to the forum as well and have RNY surgery scheduled for the 15th. My wife is fully supportive of my upcoming surgery wth the typical concerns.  She is scheduled for Lap Band surgery on Feb 4.  She has some concerns that I will be losing more and faster than her but that's about it. It took me some time to find the Men's boards but gladI'm here. Tom
