SO how many of you got close to cancelling your operation. Im going through that whole doubting phase, wondering if the outcome will be worth all the hard work.. Thinking maybe i can drop the weight without taking this "drastic" step.. blah blah blah.. you know the story.

Not looking forward to two weeks of optifast diet either.. no meat, not carbs, no nothing ..

what got everyone through this phase, and more importantly, did anyone actually back out? i read that one girl actually pretty much got to the table and decided she couldnt do it..

Cheers

I think most of us have had some doubts when it came right down to crunch time to do the surgery.  And even wondered if we were doing the right thing or that maybe we should give the diet once last chance.  Those are natural feelings and you must deal with them.  I truly did not have much of a choice.  I was very sick and had lymphedema extremely bad in my legs.  The doctors pretty much told me the only way I was going to get better was to have the surgery.  I did have some major complications also right after surgery.  But now 3 1/2 months out I can honestly say I would do it again in a flash.  The surgery has given me my life back.  I can now do things that I had begun to believe I would never do again.  And I can now really enjoy my life with my wife and daughter.  So for me, the love of my family and the thought of having my life back is what got me through.  Only you can make the final decision to have the surgery or not.  This is a very difficult time and I do wish you the very best of luck.
