Mexico Worry
I went for my consult at CosMed with Dr. Alejandro Quiroz in Tijuana. Their surgical center was amazing and quite advanced, and most of my California support group has had their body lifts there and they all look great! I stayed for a couple of days and ate and drank all kinds of things and I was fine. But of course, all the water I drank was bottled. Anyway, I am going in May for my procedure and I am very excited! :)

She had RNY and, later, PS in Mexico, and had very positive experiences. Of course, just like in the US, it all depends on the surgeon, support staff and the hospital, so it may be hard to extrapolate her experiences to another locale.
She's also a very cool person, and writes wonderfully.

You should always drink, and ask for, only "agua purificado" (e.g. bottled water vs. tap water) when in Mexico , or only other bottled or brewed drinks .. By keeping to that rule you should avoid any epsiodes of the "Reynosa Runs" .. &;-)
I know my brother made the mistake of drinking from a public water fountain one time when our family was in Monterrey back in the early 70s .. Our parents had warned him, but he went ahead when their backs were turned (you know how know-it-all teens can be!) .. I think he spent the rest of our family Xmas vacation there on "el Juan" .. !
