P90X?...Hmm....
Hi Guys...
OK, so Jan 7th is my 4-year anniversary. Here I am. Slim. Getting skin removal this May (finally!), and I am finally eating normally (after my abdominal corrective surgery last September).
So, I find myself pretty much happy, slim, and very average. I want more....
I have been looking at P90X. (www.p90x.com)
I was wondering, has anyone else looked at this program, or tried it? Everything I have heard is that if TRULY followed, you get great results. But I just don't want to plop down a bunch of money for nothing, so I was hoping for some feedback?
Thanks, guys!

great job on 4 years mike. an inspiration to us all. i've only seen the commercials for this work out. looks like a ball buster if you ask me. when the workouts are that long and hard i wonder how many people can really stick to something like that. for me i think they're all using just one simple principle. work out fast.
here's the deal, which by the way has not changed since forever, you're not going to get that six pack unless you diet for that look. you have to keep your body fat down to achieve that look. plain and simple. if you don't adjust your diet you'll just have muscle under flab. now i'm all for staying fit and you can do that in anyway you want. just so long as you LIKE it and stay with it. hell, if bowling keeps you in shape then do it. the point is to stay with the program. i did tae boe or however that idiotic thing is spelled. you know i did a couple of levels and liked the idea of punching instead of the girly stuff for aerobics. for the money give it a try but maybe you can rent an episode first from someone or somewhere. if you've never done an aerobic tape before try doing that first. if you don't like it you won't like this either. you have to be motivated enough to put in the tape everyday and do it till the end. it also seemed to me you had to buy other stuff with this program too.
so in the end this is another fitness tape. you won't get the same results as lifting and that's fine. i do cardio everyday too. i just think i can get the same results eating less, cutting out extra fat and running or swimming. so eat right and do the tape. just don't expect those results without low body fat. just my humble opinion....carbonblob

Hey there! Happy New Year to you!
I completely agree! You hit the nail right on the head....and I thank you so much for your input!
I have viewed the videos, and went over some of the materials - and basically if you eat EXACTLY what they tell you to, and do EXACTLY what they tell you to WHEN they tell you to, they guarantee results. However, you are SO RIGHT in the fact that, am I actually able to stick to something like this?
What makes it a tiny-itty-bit easier, is that I have several of the guys here at the office who want to do it all together, and we have use of the gym on base for free where we can use the videos at the same time. So I would actually have others to answer to, which MIGHT help just a little bit.....
But at any rate, you are so right. In the end, I have to be happy and I have to be the one determined to really want it bad enough.
Have a terrific day!

well if you've got a group of guys to do it with chances are you'll succeed. guys are competitive and seem to do better in that setting. besides it's more fun doing it with other people. i did those tapes with gail and the dogs! at any rate sounds like you understand the principle of low body fat. i hate to keep dragging that up in these exercise posts but you won't get definition, vascularity and a six pack with high fat volume. you will look like those guys in the commercial if you can get down to a single digit fat level. i've done it. not fun so maybe find a higher number where you still look good. i can still look pretty good at 15% but at 9% i look great! either way, really try to go for being fit and slimmer. that's one thing you can get for sure from this program....carbonblob
