ACNE AFTER WLS?

Hey guys I was wondering if any of you have experienced this.  I haven't had the best "skin" in the world but it seems like after WLS I break out everywhere.  On my back and face; why is this? I don't know if it's because my body is releasing stored fat or some other reason. Interested to know other view points on this!

Haven't been through the surgery yet so I can't comment on your question.   However, my CPAP mask has been giving me some wicked acne around my nose area.  I wa**** as instructed to no avail.   I ended up spending 150 on a top of the line comfort fit model and I am on my second day. Hopefully the acne will go away. Good luck with your issue.

James, could just be your body adjusting to itself.  Your body goes through alot of shock and trauma following the surgery, and needs time to adjust.  I personally didnt have this problem.  In fact, 20 months post-op, my skin is healthier than its ever been.  Good color and not dry at all.  I do sweat alot when working out and I spend alot of time at the beach and in the sun as well.  Good luck, it will probably clear up on its own. Your skin is the largest organ in your body and, from what I understand, acne is caused by bacteria.  You may have a compromised resistance to it because of the WLS.  I suggest you contact your primary doc and see what he suggests.  The reaction may or may not have anything to do with the WLS.  I suppose you may have to see a dermatologist at the worst. 

Hormones get stored in the fat, too. With the burning of the fat, the hormones are released as well. Everyone has a different situation, but this is believed to be the possible cause for everything from acne, mood swings, elevated sex drive, ......and so on. Who knows for sure. JP
