Survey: How Much Can You Eat?
Hey boys, hope everybody's holidays are going great. Mine are. So here's the question;
I am almost 20 months post-op, and at any meal, can eat between 6 and 8 oz. max before I feel stuffed. Of course it's all good stuff, lots of protein, still not drinking a half hour before and after eating. I eat 5 or 6 meals a day, only 2 of them are 6 to 8 oz., the others tend to be in the 4 oz. range or 8 oz. protein shakes.
So how about you guys. Is 6 to 8 ozs. of solid foor average or does that seem a little too much? I've maintained an average weight of 185 +/- for the past 8 months with no problems. Just wanted to get a consensus from everyone. Any response would be appreciated. Be well all.

Dx will know best on this..but yeah, for me about 5 to 7 oz is about it. If that is cheese or meat, it's a bit less...veggies, pasta, hamburger etc tho I can get about 7 oz down just fine. Like one slice or a slice and a half of a med sized pizza is about it -- TOTALLY -- not like it used to be!
And I too eat about 4 times, sometimes 5 a day. Small snack sized meals...but all good!

Like I said, I don't eat those very often, but I use them as examples because everyone is familiar with them.
I won't claim to be 100% compliant with a low carb diet, but I'm a hell of a lot closer to it even now than I was before this ever started. For the record, Wendy's chili has beans and they're full of carbs, so there. Nanner nanner boo boo.
Lunch today was leftover Christmas ham and carrots with dip.
John,
You had your surgery a week before me. It seems like you're sticking to the program alot better than I am. After seven months, I couldn't stop losing until I added pasta, rice, and some fried foods. I've been surviving on chicken strips (cooked to death in toaster oven). I don't do well on anything that I have to chew much, such as raw veggies, salad, steak, etc. I've never done the protein shakes. I added protein powder to my yogurt, but have even gotten away from that. I've been pretty much maintaining my weight at about 155 (148 was lowest). It seems to be the right weight for me. Unfortunately I'm not eating the right things, but it's working for me. Keep up the good job. You're doing awesome.
