Only good advice (success stories)

 I have been reading here and I know there is always the ones that want to tell you all the bad things that happen. I want to hear from the success stories. I want to hear from the people that say the band was the best thing.

Before the photo parade, the lesson. The band was the right thing for ME. Only you (with input from your surgeon, PCP, etc.) can say if it is right for YOU. That being said . . .

 You look great. can I ask what was your starting weight and now? Any advice will be very appreciated.

 I can't boast a success like Bette's, but I am very happy with my choice.  Like Bette said, it is a decision you must make with your medical team.

I will say that it was/is hard for me to keep my head on the game.  I had lost 70 pounds, let some emotional garbage take over my brain and gained 40 back.  Once I realized it was my doing, and got my head back in the game I started to lose again.  I am back down 15 pounds in a little under three months.

Posting here, participating in some challenges and moving my behind have been the keys to my success.  There are negatives with each surgery, you just have to research and be sure you are making the best educated decision for you!

Hi Betty,

I was banded on 12/1/08, my starting weight was 454 lbs, I lost 195 lbs within 2 years of being banded. Due to me slacking off and not working with the band for almost an entire year I did gain around 25 lbs of that back, so I'm currently working on my last 70-75 lbs I would like to lose to reach goal. I will post my before and after picture so far..the before was taken when I was 1 month post op at 430 lbs, and the after is 2 years post op at 259 lbs, I currently weigh around 274 lbs. Sorry for the picture size, I couldn't resize it  without it looking distorted.  Good Luck with your surgery and weight loss journey!

The Band and lots of exercise...3 years later....I am down 150 lbs!!!! I still have more to go but I'm happy and healthy.  I don't have any of my health issues I had before and I am wearing normal size clothes now!!!  It was the best decision I ever made.
