My goal is to lose 45 more lbs by Feb 2012! Can I do it? Is it realistic? What should I eat? What exercises are the best for lots of weightloss? Anyone?

3 months, including Chirstmas? 15lbs a month? Even if you meant the very end of February that's  still less than 4 months.

Wow! I think that may be setting yourself up to fail.

Highest 290, Banded - 248   Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.

Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,

hi Renee,

Well, that's quite a goal you set for yourself.  I don't know that it is possible but I don't have a crystal ball either.

I guess if I were you I would see how I was losing now.  Are you losing 3.75 pounds a week now?  If you are then meeting your goal is doable.  I know that all averaged out  since surgery I have lost. 3.2 pounds a week.  HOWEVER, that includes that really quick weight loss at the beginning, 30 pounds in the first month.  I could so not replicate that at this point in my journey.

Realistic weight loss is 1-2 pounds a week on any program whatsoever.  I guess you could do protein shakes for the next 16 weeks.  What do you think?

Not to be nosey but is there a reason for this goal?  It is for your 1 year anniversary?

Good luck, let us know how it goes!

Anything is possible, but that is very unlikely unless you do TONS of exercise!

Hope you make it though. But even if you don't, try to celebrate the weight that you have lost. :-)

Not realistic.  At almost a year post op you should expect the average weight loss of 1-2 lbs per week.

If you want to jump start your efforts I would either do liquids for a week or try a very low carb diet like the Plateau Buster diet and stick to it for 10 days.

As far as exercise, cardio will probably give you the biggest bang for your buck, i.e., walking, treadmill, eliptical, swimming, bicycling, running, etc.

Best of luck to you!
