Just how many teaspoons of sugar are you eating???
Great article about sugars, how many we SHOULD have vs how many we may be having a day. My "good" Chobani yogurt actually sucks. I can't see wasting 5 teaspoons of sugar on it. Now I need to find something else. PS...I hate plain Greek yogurt.

The amount of sugar in yogurt is what is put into it- but yogurt cultures are living, and need to be fed- they consume the sugars, leaving very little behind. This is one of those foods where you can't go by initial ingredients..For the amount of protein in each serving- you get a good (great) bang for your buck! Also be careful- when the take the fat out of foods they add sugar- so try to go for a higher fat version if you can
It is definitely a good practice to become a label reader. Since most of intake is very limited in added sugar, I don't mind the sugar from the Chobani (my favorite greek yogurt as well) yogurt. I use the plain fat free Chobani mixed with some sugar free pudding or jello mix, when I am tired of the regular flavors. I am loving my concoction of the plain yogurt and sf cheescake pudding. I do thin it down a bit with some of my unsweetened vanilla almond milk, as the pudding and jello mixes do thicken it up substantially.
I have completely replaced mayo with plain fat free yogurt. I have found if I use enough seasonings and let the flavors mingle for a couple of hours in the fridge, most people don't even know that they are eating yogurt instead of mayo. If you aren't ready to completely give up mayo, try replacing a portion of it with the yogurt.
I also use the yogurt in place of sour cream on my nachos. I use rice cakes or vegetable slices as the chips. Try a dollop on your cup of chili. Use it in your dip recipes. The possibilities are endless and you are getting more protein and calcium with fewer calories than mayo.
Happy Monday Everyone,
Kim - who is off to eat her tuna salad made with the fat free greek yogurt!

I'm not a sour cream person, but I'm so stealing your idea about the regular yogurt and sf pudding! Thank you!!!! :)
do you just sprinkle the sf pudding into the yogurt and mix? or is the pudding already made and you mix the two? I use sf pudding, no sugar almond milk in my protein shakes....LOVE it
