I have had major problems ever since being banded. Diet didn't do it for me, I had to take both added fibre AND a stool softener every single morning and every single evening.. Without it I would have ended up in ER.  it really was that bad.

Since maintaining ( four years now) it hasn't been quite so bad. I take the fibre and the softener every second or third day.

Now I know that things like Kellogs AllBran help. But I find them literally inedible.

Last week I was given a free sample box of Kellogs AllBran Golden Clusters. Being free, I tried it. No details but I have had a normal BM every morning since. This is wonderful! (the things thst make me happy!!)

It's not a low cal breakfast cereal but neither is it too bad. A 45 gm serving with skimmed milk is about 250, but it could only eat about 30 gm anyway. But the main thing is it is edible unlike normal AllBran.

I assume we have the same brands.

Kate.

I am assuming we th same brand names here!

Kate,

I'll be on the lookout for the All Bran Golden Clusters. I can always use some help in the elimination department.

Your post reminded me of my arrival in the UK in October 1970. One of my coworkers had a 15-year old daughter who bombarded me with questions about life in the USA.  She asked things like:

In New York, are there gangsters hiding in every rubbish bin?

Is it true that Americans eat steak for breakfast every morning?

Do you have Kelloggs cereal in the US?
