Slow Cooker

I really love my clow cooker too with ONE exception... I find that regardless of what I make, it just seems to make SO MUCH of whatever I put in there that I end up throwing out tons of food.  And, in general, I don't think cooked food freezes well without a vac****ealer (which I did finally invest in) but my freezer is so packed already.

Edit to add... Now a Vac****ealer... THAT is a great investment for a bandster!  I buy proteins in bulk and then seal and freeze them in individual servings.  Things like chicken breasts are so ridiculously large these days that my husband and I just share one for dinner.  And a pork tenderloin?  I cut each one in half and we just eat that at a meal.  It's been a WONDERFUL addition to my kitchen!

I always thought I I wouldn't get much use of a vaccuum sealer-you might have changed my mind.

 Sure.

Paula's Pork Chops

Ingredients:

·                        4 to 6 pork chops, bone-in or boneless

·                        Flour (used Whole Wheat)

·                        salt and pepper

·                        1/4 cup oil (I used EVOO)

·                        1 large onion, sliced

·                        2 cubes or equivalent chicken boullion granules or base

·                        2 cups ho****er

·                        8 oz. sour cream (fat free is okay)

Preparation:

Season pork chops to taste and dredge in flour. Lightly brown in oil and place in slow cooker; top with onion slices. Dissolve or soften boullion in ho****er and pour over chops. Cook on low 7-8 hours. After the pork chops have cooked, stir 2 tablespoons flour into the sour cream; stir into cooking juices. (It is not necessary for this to be totally blended into boullion, but don't just dump it on top either.) Turn slow cooker to high for 15-30 minutes or until liquid is slightly thickened. Serve with rice, noodles or potatoes as you choose. The sour cream sauce is delicious!
Serves 4 to 6.
