Well my surgeons office sent off my packet for approval yesterday Now I wait I hate waiting. My Nutitionist wrote a letter of medical necessity saying that a 12 month supervised diet is contraindicated in my situation due to my many comorbid conditions, brittle diabetes, hypertension, high colestoeral, retionapathy, neurapathy and on and on.......boy I didn't know that I was as sick as I was Anyone know how long it usually takes to get a answer back from these guys? I'm getting myself ready to fight and have started working on the appeal letter. Has anyone had any luck before getting approved without having to do the 12 month diet? I know and the doctors agree that in my case it is only a waste of time. Anyway I'm still waiting. So If you can send me positive vibes. Thanks and hugs, Ronna

Hi Ronna, Just wishing you good luck on your approval. I've heard of some people getting around the 6 or 12 month diet requirement but there are alot of us that had to do it. I guess you just never know with the insurance company as they love playing these stupid games and making you jump through hoops just to save your life. It's enough to drive you . Just hang in there and I'm sure you'll hear something soon. Good luck!

Good luck with them. I think there insurance SUCKS!! I tried and tried to get them to approve without the 12 month diet thing but failed. So had to go to Mexico and have the surgery done for 1/2 of what it cost here in the states. I hope that they approve you and keep your hopes up and keep up the fight. I just got tired of the fight and decided it was not worth my blood pressure up everyday and depression!! But good luck and I will keep you in my prayers!! Jen
