Ok. I have United HEalthcare ChoicePlus through my hubby's job, Hollywood Video. They said I have to prove I have been morbidly obese for the past five years. The problem is that I lost a lot of weight so I could get pregnant in 2000 and eight weeks after I delivered I got pregnant with my second child. So I really don't know how they are going to react to my medical papers. Has anyone had any experience with them or a situation like this?? HELP!!!

hmmm must be a requirement that your employer has, because I have UHC Choice Plus (JPMorgan Chase Bank NA)--- Hubby only had to provide 2 years medical records, they didnt even look for proof of obesity over a 5 year period. They approved him in 7 days--- no issues at all.

Yes, I had to demonstrate morbid obesity for five years. I'd changed doctors within that period and could only go back three years. I then had the bright idea of photocopying all my old driver licenses (on which I did *not* lie about my weight), from age 18 to the present (I'm 44). 26 years of morbid obesity, thank you very much! That seemed to do the trick, at least when I appealed my insurance's denial of the duodenal switch to California's department of Managed Health Care. Good luck!
