I can't seem to go a whole week and keep up with all we have to take every day so I ordered some Vista Vitamins to try from bariatriceating.com. They come in celephane packets marked am and pm so I think they will be easier for me to take with me. There are 4 pills in each packet. Since those are taken twice a day rather than 3 times a day like the bariatric center vitamins, there will be less to take. From what I've read the vitamins are complete with all the supplements. I'm going to try them and see how my labs are. How are you feeling?

Hi Sandy.. So do those cover what we are supposed to have? If so.. I am on my way to getting them!!!!... Maybe I will send the link to Jody and see what she says! 8, I can stand... 16.. is a little much. I feel Much, MUCH better today- thanks for asking. I am eating REALLY well.. no problems at all, and I am shocked that its so easy. I thought I would have something not agree with me! Meats, veggies and fruits are going down with ease. I need to work on pills and water, badly! Its so easy to forget! My only complaint is when I stand up straight, my back really hurts like it has never before! ....my incesions are bothering me..and I get my drain tube out Thursday... I know thats gonna hurt like CRAZY!!!!!! How are you doing?

I've compared the VV's to the multiple we get from the center and the VV's are comparable. A lot of things they are actually higher in. The calcium in the VV's is less than the calcium supplement we take, HOWEVER, the calcium pills are so big, I very seldom take all six a day so...I'm not really getting that much which makes what is in the VV's about what I'm getting out of the calcium supplement. The iron in the VV's is a lower amount than the iron supplement we have. The iron pill is so small I don't mind if I have to take that occasionally. What I'm going to do is take the Vista Vitamins and continue to get in my milk and yogurt and protein each day. When my next set of labs are done I'll be able to see how my levels are or if I need to supplement some calcium or iron. For me, the reality of taking 4 twice a day is much better than taking 4 larger pills twice a day and remembering the additional mid day dose of 2. I'll see if it works better for me anyway. I'm glad you aren't having any problems with your food. I haven't either and that really surprised me. I thought it was going to be tougher than it was. Don't worry about the drain tube coming out. It was easier having it taken out than having to put up with it every day. Piece of cake! Oops...uh...sip of protein! I'll bring the Vista Vitamin box to the next support meeting so you can compare for yourself. The pills are smaller which helps too! Keep up the good work!!

Thanks for such a detailed responce I looked at that site, and all the sudden I had $175.00 in my cart! Happened fast! I like the idea of tasteless whey, that I can mix into a soup... beats the shake idea.. those are already overkill............... The food part has been great.. havent been hungry- I am eating for energy ( what a new concept!)..... It scares me though, because I have already been tempted to snatch a bite of a no no food ( like my kids chicken nugget) lol.. I guess they cant take the cravings out of our minds.. All and all this is ok I am worried about the drain tube, lol ..and I am sure its not gonna be such a "sip of protien"

Alright Chick-a-dee, SOOO you are home now. I am so glad for you. The hubby and girls need you just as bad as you need them. What kind of foods are you eating so early after surgery? I thought you should be on clear liquids, then soft foods then phase three would be to a more soft food diet so that your pouch could heal. Just wondering . Anyway, I am glad you seem to be doing better. Did they ever say what was wrong? As for vitamins, I take nuthin but Shaklee, they are all natural and they DO dissolve in your new pouch and will not get stuck in your new stoma either. Let me know if I can be of any help to you. Glad you are home and doing well. Much love to ya, girly Crece

I am home!! I love being home My doctor, has us on solids asap. I have had chicken, pork chop, strawberrys, carrots, fish, kiwi ... eggs.. etc without any problems!!! I am keeping them soft, by chewing! They do tell us to make sure our foods are moist at this stage... As far as what is wrong, phnumonia was it.. they caught it at the beggining which I guess is why I was only in for 3 more days.... I am glad I am over that.... I am really weak still ... I am hoping that these vitamins will pep me up! Where do you get Shaklee? How many a day? How are you feeling? Hugs and love to you missy!
