Hello everyone. I am looking for a support group in my local area. If anyone can provide additonal information as to when and where the meetings are it would be most appreciative. I have more weight to lose and feel that this would be a good motivator for me. thanks in advance, Patricia Koch

Patricia, There is a non-surgeon specific group that meets in Lawrenceville at Central Gwinnett High School from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM every Wednesday night. Everyone is welcome. The Yahoo Goup is moderated with restricted membership just to keep out spammers and to provide a little privacy for the members, but everyone, pre-ops, post ops, support people, family and friends, are welcome. http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/LawrencevilleWINGNUTS/ If you or anyone else from Obesity Help would like to join, you could send me your e-mail address with a note about who you are and I will send you an invite to join the group. We also meet for dinner at 5:30 PM at a different location in Lawrenceville before the meeting each week. We generally post the location of dinner the week of the meeting, sometimes the day of the meeting. Everyone is welcome to join us for dinner, too. We have patients from several doctors who attend our meetings including, Dr. Daly, Dr. Hart, the Doctors at Emory Bariatrics, Dr. Dennis Smith, Dr. Duncan, Dr. Appel and others. The group is an informal, patient led group with occasional speakers. We also get together socially just for fun sometimes. Everyone is always welcome. I hope you can join us. Patricia, I mentioned the Lawrenceville WingNUTS WLS support group to you in my last post.
