A life ruled by numbers....argh
I've noticed lately how much my lfie is ruled by numbers. I was an English major too, so I don't even like numbers!
Pre-op weight: 364
Surgery date: 10/27/04
Current weight: 250.5-254.5
Weight loss so far: 110-114
Weeks on plateau: 4-6
Weeks I've been with "my new guy": 4
Amount of weight I can do on the leg press: 500
Number of weeks since my father died: 8
Sometimes, we get so caught up in all the details that we forget to actually see the journey we are on. Yes, I'm frustrated by this plateau...but it's just another "number" on a screen filled with numbers!
Someone remind me of that the next time I want to scream when I get on the scale.
Thanks for "listening"
Catherine

Some those "numbers" sound pretty darn good to me! (Sorry about the loss of your father - I know what that's like, mine passed 2.5 years ago....then my mother was what is coming up on her 2 year anniversay of her passing)
That's a LOT of weight to press.....I'm a body builder and have been working out non stop for the last year and can only press 450......
To beat the plateau.....take measurements....weight may not change but if you're still loosing inches (but gaining muscle) then you're not on a true plateau! Up your water and protein intake....that will help with your plateau busting. (If you're working out you DEFINATELY need more protein than normal.)
Numbers are just that - NUMBERS......how do you FEEL????
Keep that in mind when you think about numbers!
