Something weird-dumping syndrome?
I had something weird happen last night. I ate some cheese crackers and some ham salad... 0g of sugar in the crackers and 2g sugar in the ham salad. About 10-15 minutes later I could feel my BP rise, could feel 'hear' my heart beating in my ears. I threw up 6 or 7 times and just had foam. I laid down and felt shakey all over. I did not end up with stomach cramps or diarreah or anything else. But I was so scared, I felt like I was going to die.
Was this the dumping syndrome? Or something I should make an emergency call to the doc about?
I am pretty normal feeling today but nervous that it might happen again. I couldn't even sleep last night cause I was so scared.
Thanks for any input... y'all are life savers to me.
God's Blessings,
Barb
Thanks Kara,
I kinda thought maybe it was the dumping thing... and I was the one that wasn't going to happen to!
Look at you lady... 195!!
Way to go Kara! I feel so proud for you!
Hey, I wanted to ask you, I know you have some great recipes... do you by any chance have a recipe for coconut shrimp? Not the fried crunchy kind, I'm looking for a recipe for the kind of coconut shrimp that is creamy (like my 'old' favorite chinese buffet makes!). Of course WLS friendly!
Thanks!
B
I checked my recipes - no shrimp ones
(maybe because I am not crazy about seafood lol) Either way, you can post this to the cooking/baking forum at http://www.obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity/member-interests/cooking_baking/ or the recipes forum at http://www.obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity/amosforums/recipe/ I go to these both when I am looking for something I don't have. Good luck on your search and I hope to see you thinner tomorrow night lol.

Hey, Barb,
Sometimes, people refer to it as the "foamies." It's the same thing as dumping with the foam. I did the same thing several times at about your stage. I wasn't able to eat any kinds of salads for quite a while. If you eat this regular, maybe it just went down too fast, or your pouch had too much already in it. Isn't it an adventure?!? The first spread I could handle was light pimento cheese.
I am glad you are feeling better now!! It really scared me too!
Hugs,
Becky
Thanks Becky,
I sure hope this doesn't happen very often. I've been trying to follow the rules. Only 2 grams of sugar... I thought that was safe. I didn't know it could happen from other ways... uhg... it's an adventure thats for sure. It sure took me by suprise!
Thank you for your kind words, it means more than you will ever know.
Love, Barb
