Okay - I've been noticing this board has been slow lately. I know it's probably because we've been on summer break and with School just starting back I'm *hoping* everyone will start posting again. My challange to all of you....... Post - Ops.... I want to know what ahs been the ONE thing you've had the biggest problem with? Pre-Ops... What is the ONE thing you are the MOST worried about with having the possibility of this surgery in your future? AND everyone submit a new recepie.......I've run out of idea lately and could use some delicious inspiration!!!! Come on....Fess up!!! Since I'm a post op here's my "Demon" I don't drink enough water. I can't stand the way plain water tastes. I drink about 2 propels a day - but that's NOT enough water with all of the exercising I do. I also have found out that I can drink cokes without a problem.....so I have to fight that one of REGULARLY!!!! The truth is ugly....but I did it - YOU can do it too!!!! We're here to help keep each other on track!

ONE thing huh? With me the biggest problem has been eating in general. I don't know if my issues are unusual but I can't really eat any of the things I SHOULD be eating...like chicken, tuna, milk, turkey etc.... I am not getting enough protein. Ok, recipe for those of you that CAN eat eggs *lol* My kids LOVE this too!! Ham and Cheese Delight Preheat oven to 350 degrees Ingredients: Cubed ham 6 eggs 1 pack of saltine crackers(the tube that comes in the box) 3 cups of grated cheddar cheese milk Cut the ham up into smaller pieces Break the 6 eggs in a bowl and beat well Pour in an rectangular glass baking dish crush the crackers until they are VERY FINE ( I let my kids do this part) mix the crackers into the baking dish Add 2 of the cups of cheese Fill the dish about 3/4 of the way full with milk Stir Well Bake @ 350 degrees for about an hour or until a knife stuck in the center comes out clean (About the last 10 minutes spread the rest of the cheese on top). It is REALLY good!!! Shree

Wow - sounds good...If I could only tolerate eggs like this.....they can be cooked in something - but I can't take eggs for egg sake! I worry about being able to tolerate things too well also. I have that affliction....LOL

One of the best things about this site is that it gives you the opportunity to know and uderstand ALL of the possibilites of what can and sometimes does happen. The "afterwards" is something that is completely up to you. Follow everything your doctor says and you'll do fine (I know - easier said than done). I've never been a fan of cheesecake - but I will let my sister have the recepie....she loves it!!

Hi, Dee Dee, My biggest boo boo is eating too fast...old habits die hard. At fourteen months, it doesn't hurt at all going down. I feel the effects a few minutes later. I am less likely to dump now, so I have to suffer for a while. I am no help with recipes since I do not cook very often. I do add lite chocolate syrup to my protein drinks. Does that count? Hugs, Becky

I still don't eat fast - but I seem to eat a LOT more than I used to. I've only dumped once since surgery - so I don't have that issue either. I add nestle Quick to my protein shake...I know - another no no!

I'll agree with the fabulous Becky, I eat too fast. I worry about all the other things too like protein and water. I'm finally up to about 64 oz of water a day, but it took almost a whole year! And I like water! I guess my biggest struggle lately has been wondering if my loosing is coming to an end. I've "only" lost 8 pounds in over a month and that worries me. I know, I know...when did I ever loose 8 pounds in a month before surgery....but for someone who still has about 150 pounds to go, the though of s l o w i n g down is scary! Kelle

I would have to say not drinking before and after a meal... I drink during the meal all the time... and I know I am not supposed to... That will be a really hard habit to break...
