Date Set (But Not In Concrete)

Hi again ... Well, guess we don't need to call Ann in the morning. I was on the phone with our oldest son in Michigan and when Ann got a busy signal she called my husband's cell. She went and tracked down Dr Smith and he told her he feels absolutely terrible making me wait until Sept. 12th but that there is absolutely no way he can fit me in between his other procedures and allow himself enough time to do mine right (taking into consideration all the possible 'worse case scenarios so he wont have to rush me off the table). However she is on alert that if anyone cancels for any reason between now and then that I am top priority for going in. So I am OK with waiting until the 12th ... maybe it may not go that slow ... and IF there happens to be something open up I am set to go. Besides, my mother in law will be back from the old country by then and maybe she'll come down to help out. I'll be back later to post more. Huggs -- Lisa

Sounds like a plan to me... nice to hear you are on the track again... I had my surgery early because of a cancellation... so it does happen! Hang in there... the date will be here quickly...

Lisa, I have been very pleased with the Emory team (coordinators, nurses, dietician, surgeons). While some things have fallen through the cracks, overall the experience has been great. Remember - you attract more butterflies with sugar than vinegar! Hang in there and remember that you need these folks - don't let yourself get so worked up!
