Burp Burp, Gurgle, Gurgle - I'm HOME
Whew! I made it! My surgery was Monday from 11:30 until 3:30. I went to my room at about 5:00. Tuesday was a wierd day - guess it is a good thing I really don't remember much about it. I did think I would go home Tuesday but it turns out that there was never really a plan for me to go home on Tuesday. Just as well. I walked and walked. I drug my poor mother all over Crawford Long - she was a trooper! I was released Wednesday evening at about 6:00. Yesterday and today were okay - just trying to concentrate on getting in the liquids. I've only had 1/2 of a dose of pain medicine today. I do burp alot and my stomach is VERY noisey. Overall, I feel good. I am sleeping all night, walking all day and sipping all the way. For those who are pre-op - I know you've seen this advice before, but this surgery is no joke. Make sure you have a support system ready for you at the hospital. I am so blessed that mother could be with me all week. Trust me, you won't have thought of all the little things that you'll need help with - like picking stuff up off the floor (you think you don't drop stuff, huh?), getting the dogs to get in the kennel for bed, etc.
Congrats and welcome to LOSERVILLE!!! It's a great place!
We all get used to a gurgling tummy...some days mine sounds like a percolator! LOL!
I was very blessed to have my best friend and my sons to be there for me right after surgery. I does help immensely!!
Good luck!
Glad you are doing well.
