Erin, My personal choices are: Protein - Isopure, but it can be gritty if you don't mix it well Multivitamin - Viactiv (hey, anytime I get to chew chocolate...) Calcium - Viactiv (once again...chocolate and chewy) Iron - don't have to take it (had hysterectomy last year & iron levels have been good so far) B-12 - pretty much any brand that says it is "sub-lingual" - I use Sundown brand (since it won't stay in your body long enough to be absorbed if you swallow it, the kind that goes under your tounge - sub-lingual - is best) If you try the Isopure (50g of protein in 2 scoops - mix w/ 8oz of water or milk), get it from Dr. Proctor's office - it is at least $15-20 cheaper there than at any health food store I have seen so far ($35 for a big 3 pound jar of powder versus $50-60 at the stores) You can get everything else at most anyplace. I think the Viactiv multi & calcium are a little over $7 each at Wal-mart, but I can't remember about the B-12. I don't think it is over $4, though, for 60. Hope that helps! Amanda 266/181/147 (-85)

Erin, As a fresh post-op, usually your Doc recommends what he wants you on in those "early" days. If he doesn't, I do have some recommendations: Protein: I like the Syntex brands...when you're tired of the routine chocolate, vanilla & strawberry shakes. They are not found in at GNC or Walmart but in some of the other health food stores and online you can have them ordered. Some online even has "sample" packets with a 1-time dose. These mix with either water or milk (I like mixing with water) and it blends well...AND...tastes good. Try the tropical punch (tastes like a non-alcoholic pina cololada) or the fuzzy navel (tastes like tang). I don't like the Nectar brand as much...but you just have the find one you like. My suggestion is to find an online website that offers "samples". I try to find the supplements that has atleast 20gms/scoop and less than 100cal/serving. Vitamins: www.bariatricadvantage.com They have the special-formulated chewable vitamins especially for those people who have undergone bariartic surgery. I like the chewable tropical multivitamin. The orange are OK. They also have the chewable calcium (the cinammon is wonderful), sublingual B12, and iron (grape). I suck on mine so I don't get that gritty taste in my teeth. I think you can also purchase the protein shake I suggested on this website also. Good luck!

Hey girlie! (I know I still owe you a response to your email...I'm terrible, I know..) My personal favorite is Unjury chocolate. I mix it with skim milk, and it tastes just like a Carnation Instant Beverage. I get my chewable iron from bariatricadvantage.com. They taste good and dissolve well. I get sublinqual b-12 from Walgreens, and I PERSONALLY take 2 a day. I don't take shots..and when I was just taking one, and was worn down, I DID find the extra really helped. Calcium, I initally got from GNC - they had the chewable citrate I needed. They were about $15 for a huge bottle. Now I am using the chewable Viactive, with is NOT citrate, but I am using it in the interim until I get back to GNC. Good luck to you my friend. I hope all goes well. Tami

The only protein that I like is Unjury. The cholotate and unfavored work well for me. Word of advice though some of the protein drinks tasted I tried before surgery and then didn't like them at all after surgery. God Bless you on this awesome journey you are on and hugs and prayers as well, Theresa
