looking for a vascualr dr

Hey Everybody, I am in need of a vascular dr to get a second opinion from. As I was submitting info to insurance for thigh plasty and belt lipectomy last Sept, I was advised by my plastic surgeon to consult with a vascular dr to get approval for surgery. She was thinking possible lymphedema issues. I was diagnosed with woody lymphedema, was approved for both surgeries, and was denied approval by the vascular surgeon. I did compression therapy and was denied approval for custom fit garments so have pretty much been doing nothing for the lymphedema. Until this week. I have started compression therapy and been fitted for the garments but it will take them 2 -3 weeks to arrive. I now need to start researching vascular drs as I am only allowing myself to get one other opinion and I really need to make the most of it. I got some leads on a dr in Alabama today and I am willing to travel if need be - I was even considering going out of the country to Germany where lymphedema treatment is much more advanced. Thanks Tammy. My therapist, Kim, had told me there was a dr in Gainesville but all she could remember of the name was obesity solutions. I had deduced they were somehow connected with Dr Proctor but wasn't sure. The name of the practice certainly sounds promising and they will be one I will check out. Gainesville isn't too far away as I have moved 3 miles north of Suwanee to Sugar Hill ( and it is a lot closer than Germany! ). Marie
