Struggling a little....

Hey all... I have gained 4 pounds this week... man, that is really depressing! I have moved for the second time in 2 months, and for some stupid reason started eating Chex mix while riding in the truck from the old house to the new one and back again, over and over... I have also been munching on peanuts and cashews... I am going to get back on the wagon before I totally screw this up... My back is killing me from all the heavy lifting, so I wont be walking for a couple of days, but I will try to get back on the program... I had my protein drink this morning, and my vitamins... Those carbs must the be the killer eh? I think maybe I should write down what I eat... it sure is easy to get off track now that I am almost 2 months out... I want the scale to drop!! OK... had to put this into words... hopefully it'll help!

Marc, Chex Mix is straight from the devil!! Toss it! I've learned to not even tempt myself by buying anything like it. I don't want to go back to mindlessly eating bag after bag of fried, salty snacks. I keep telling myself that I'm not working this hard to get healthy...just to sabotage my own progress. You KNOW what you need to do. I have faith in you! Catherine

You can do it, Marc. You are doing great so far. Moving is stressful, and it sounds like you are getting back into the habit of eating to help ease the stress. Once you get settled and feel better, things will fall right into place. Keep up the good work!

Marc! Hi! Hang in there its easy to fall off the wagon; all of us have done it from one time to another. Sounds like you're stress munching. I get that way sometimes. You've made it this far; we have faith in you that you will continue to succeed in your journey. Don't worry if the weight does not fall off quickly. I'm 10 mts out; lost 151 lbs since I started this journey, from 310lbs to 159; size 26/28 to 10. This journey is hard, its not easy; you're always watching what you eat; how much and what you need to do to stay on track & focused. Its so easy to go off the wagon. When I do find that I'm falling I try to refocus & I start all over again in my eating habits. Most of our snacking is habit not because we're hungry. If you don't buy it you won't eat it. Chex mix has a lot of salt too, making you retain fluids - it could just be that. Hang in there. Women are USED to their weight fluctuating that much on any given DAY, much less in a week!! Ann in Duluth

Hey, Marc, quit beating yourself up. You've recognized the problem, and you'll deal with it. Nobody gets this far without struggling a bit. I'm a big stress chewer and had a serious problem with corn chips. I finally hit on the idea of buying a box of plain shredded wheat squares to chomp on when I absolutely HAD to chew on something. Bingo! They're so bland you get tired or them real quick, and the fiber does wonders for the old system. Not very glamorous, but it has sure done the trick. Seriously, though, you've been in a stressful situation (moving) and as your life settles down, your good habits will emerge. Keep your chin up, you're a great guy and you're on your way to becoming a total hunk! Barb in S. GA
