OK for the past year and a half i have been suffering from atopic dermatitis or ezcema however you wanna say it . It is on my hands. I have not cured it but it is manageable. Question i have is can i use a mild steroid cream for itching or redness? Was wondering if any of you have suffered with skin problems prior to surgery and what the dr's might have allowed you to use. I will not try this new cream until i see dr duncans staff on friday but was just fishing around for answers. thanks in advance sandy

I saw my doc for my face yesterday. I have very dry irritated sking now (since surgery) and I was starting to freak out at how reptilian I looked. He prescribed me TRIAMCINOLONE ACETONIDE CREAM USP 0.1% and I have to put it on my face 1 time a day for two weeks... maybe you can ask your doc about getting that. Good luck! Kathy

Kathy, wow your good. that is what i was prescribed today lol. but again i am concerned about using it since it does have a steroid in it and i read somewhere if you use steroids you have to wait 3 months before having surgery. so don't want to delay anything. the eczema has been a royal pain in the tail since march of 2004 but is better than in the beginning and i can relate my face was doing that too and my dr reminded me today to push more water. hope the meds help you and thanks for the info. sandy

Sandy, I was told absolutely NO steriods. Oral, topical or nasal. I would definately speak with your Surgeons office before using it. Good Luck! Tonya

My surgeon told me absolutely no steroids of any kind (pills, cream, nose sprays) 3 months before and not after surgery at all. Meso
