HOW SOON AFTER SURGERY CAN YOU HAVE TUMMY TUCK?

HI EVERYBODY I AM COMING UP TO MY 1ST YEAR ANNIVERSARY(SEPT 2004) AFTER HAVING MY SURGERY. I WAS 387 LBS AND NOW DOWN TO 229. I HAVE SO MUCH FLAB NOW. HOW SOON CAN YOU GET A TUMMY TUCK AFTER THE SURGERY? BRITTANY D. SEPT. 13, 2004 FOBI POUCH

Not for sure, but I personally want to wait till I am close to goal weight. I have heard some say about 2 years out. Hope that helps.

I wouldn't even look into it until you are close to goal. The main reason for that is because if you have the skin removed now and you continue to loose you'll have to have more skin removed and it's less likely for insurance to pay for it a second time around. (i'm not saying they will even pay for it the first time around - but a second time would definately be more "cosmetic") I had my RNY in may 2004 and have lost 180 lbs so trust me I understand the extra skin issues.....you'll get to goal soon......paitence!!!! I will definitely be needing PS but my surgeon said to wait for at least 18 months. I wouldn't do it until I'm near goal anyway. I don't want to do it twice. Mean time, get some good body shaping under garments. I've heard a lot of good things about (spanx) I think the website is spanx.com. I hear that Stewart's also has nice inexpensive ones, and QVC & HSN have them reasonably priced. Their websites are their names with www prefixes of course and .com suffixes. HTH Meso
