Hi Everyone, I am switching jobs and I need some advice. I'm looking at getting United Healthcare, but I didn't see Dr. Procter/Richards listed in their directory. I had surgery last December so it would only be my follow ups. Does anyone have United and use ObesitySolutions? I was looking into the PPO option, but my regular Dr. is not listed under the state plan. If I'm reading the info correctly, it won't cover PCPs that are not in network. Can another Georgia teacher help me? Thanks, Mel

HI Melinda, Sorry, I'm not a teacher, but I sure hope you are able to find a way to use doctor Richard. I LOVED him. There are several teachers on the board, so hopefully, someone will pop on soon and offer suggestions. Have you called Obesity Solutions and asked them about United Heathcare? I know I had to change from Aetna to BCBS during our open enrollment in order to use them. Good luck girl!! Tami

Obesity Solutions used to take UHC, but they don't now. I worked with someone who used them and the next year I started with them. Got down to the end of the paperwork only to find they were no longer on the insurance! I had to start all over. I switched to Dr. Hart (another friend had used him) and was very happy. You can double check in case they have changed again. Ann in Duluth

Hi Mel, I'm not sure if this aplies to you or not but my husband is a teacher and I was ready to get my surgery when I found out the state of ga no longer covers WLS. I am pretty sure that if you a state employee they will not cover it, I had called united, BCBS, cigna and Kiaser and I was told no one covers if it you have the state health plan. I would give them a call to find out Good Luck Tara
