Dee Dee: Fortunately, we have a treadmill at home as well as a Total Gym (that thing that Chuck Norris is always advertizing) at home. So three days a week I start with 1/2 mile warm-up on the treatmill, followed by a 25 minute (or so) workout on the Total Gym. Once or twice a week I also walk a few miles during my lunch break. And man, is it helping! Cheryl

Want to know something funny.....I have those things at home too.....they're GREAT clothes hangers!!! LMAO (They are actually my sisters....but she dosen't use them!) You're doing a fantastic job if you can work out at home AND walk elsewhere!!! Keep up the good work!

After I had my surgery date scheduled, I made a one-year commitment to personal training. I got started as soon as Dr. Hart released me in early December. I do an hour of weights and then 30 minutes of cardio on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. On the other days, I was walking, but now that the grass is growing, I get most of my cardio pushing my mower and emptying the bag. I missed several weeks during my father's illness, but I'm so glad to back in my gym routine. I feel SO much better after I work out. The trainer really puts me through an intense workout. I wouldn't trade those endorphins for anything! Although I've noticed the scale hasn't moved in about 3 weeks, I've lost another clothing size, so I'm pleased.

Loosing weight while working out is one of those things that if you're not seeing the scale move make sure you measure!!!! You may be loosing fat but gaining muscle mass. Since muscle mass is more dense than fat - the scales may seem "stuck".....but i'd rather weight more and have muscle on me than to have the fat!!!! Keep up your fantastic work!

Right now, my only exercise is walking each morning at work with a coworker. We add a little each week and we are up to almost a mile I think. Other than that, not much. I do have an exercise ball that I got for my birthday, some hand weights and even pilates DVDs (unopened!!). I even have the Richard Simmons Sweating to the Oldies tapes. No excuses. Of course, before I didn't do ANY exercise, so the walking is a start!! Ann in Duluth

It is said that if you walk even in 3 - 10 minute sessions 3 times a week you'll have enough cardio exercise to up your metabolism rate noticeably! I'm a big advocate for walking....Keep up your walking and you'll notice more changes!!! Great job!

Dee Dee, Okay, I am now reporting in with my exercise report. I went to Curves today. I had joined a few weeks before surgery, and today was my first time back since surgery. I have lost 27.0 pounds and 27.5 inches in this time period. I plan on doing Curves at least 3 times a week. When it does get cooler, I do plan on adding in walking at the local high school. But right now, I just can't take the heat!!! Norma
