No Energy
Hey everyone,
Long time no post, things have been so crazy, I hope that everyone is doing well. I am now 2 weeks post op, doing pretty good so far. Can tolerate most things that I put in my mouth, most importantly milk, I tried those protein drinks and there is no way I would get one down....lol.....I have been trying to eat as much as possible but geez it is difficult when you are not hungery, I have been drinking tons of water with no problem. I also tried some watermelon, let tell you that was a wonderful thing to have on a HOT day, it really hit the spot. What mainly this post is about is I have very little energy. I went back to work and it has been hell, I start out ok but by lunch I am pooped, too tired to do anything. I have been trying to get more protein in when I feel it coming on, but so far still tired. Any suggestions? I have my 1 month visit with the Dr and the research Dr on 8/1-3, I havent weighed myself but I already feel the difference, they guys in my office say that they can see it in my face. I wont buy a scale because I know how I am and the real proof is when i can start getting into the 20 or so pairs of jeans sitting at the bottom of my closet(all sizes from 16-20) well I will stop rambling, thanks in advance for the advice

Erica,
What you are feeling is so normal... its the hibernation phase from taking in so few calories.
I have read it last about 2 weeks.
I am 7 weeks out and feeling so much better. It will come, just rest when your body says to. I can't imagine how tuff it must be at work tho.
Make sure you have protein for lunch and save any carbs for evening, they tend to make you sleepy.
Glad to hear you are doing so well and getting those fluids in.
God Bless,
Barb
You are normal. After my surgery, I was exhausted from about 2 to 5 weeks post op. I would take long naps every day from 4 to 7 plus get in 10 hrs + sleep each night too. I think our bodies are directing the energy and protein you are taking to heal you up from the inside out. After week 5 ish I was feeling a LOT better and no more naps
