I just wondered if anyone is 6 months or more post op and never lost any hair? Can you share what you think the reason is? What did you do to help prevent it? I am just interested in some ideas. I am 4 1/2 weeks post op at this point and would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks, LMW

hmmmm....LMW...this may be one you don't get a response to! LOL! (Other than my smarty pants response...) I know I lost GOBS and GOBS of hair... BUT!! Good news...It's allllll coming back...of course, since my hair is long, and the new hair is NOT, it looks like I have a CONSTANT frizz factor going on...but NO COMPLAINTS here!! It will eventually even out and get back to normal! KEEP getting in that protein! Good Luck!

I am so glad that yours is returning. I am working on the protein consumption. Thanks for your advice--and taking the time to answer!

When did you start losing it? I am 4 months post...and have yet to lose any. I have had a small amount come out but it has been doing that for years...no large gobbs like most say.....? D'Lynn

D'Lynn, are you taking anything to help prevent yourself from losing any? How much protein did you take in the first few months? I have heard that hair loss usually starts around the 3 month mark.

It was between 4 and 5 months I think, D'Lynn... I just remember it was traumatic, and I was THANKFUL my livelihood wasn't in the FOOD INDUSTRY!! LOL! I'd have been fired for all the hair that was falling out! EWWWWW!!! It lasted about 3-4 months... but it is INDEED coming back...

Modean, it's so encouraging to know that it will indeed all come back! Mine started falling out at 2 months, continued until 5 months post-op, and I guess I have another 3-5 months before it starts growing back in, eh? Oh well. Small problem considering I've gotten rid of 75 lbs. forever. That's worth it! Cheryl

I have lost tons but could honestly care less. If it all falls out I will just cut it off and wait for the re-growth Kia 284/206/155
