Ice Ice Baby!
Wow, did we ever get the bad weather tonight! Hubby and I were shopping at Kroger (I had run out of Propel!) when the rain really let loose. We were checking out and this tremendous drone noise started. Someone came through saying it was hailing out and that tornado activity was in the area. By the time we got to the front of the store, it was nothing but really hard rain. I had 3 umbrellas, but they were all in the truck! Hubby went back inside and bought an umbrella for me. I made it to our truck and pulled up as close as I could so hubby could get the groceries in. (What a time for him not being able to drive!)
The closer we got to home, the foggier it got. Then we were driving through slush! I couldn't see 5 feet in front of me. Then as I got closer to the house, it looked like snow, but it was hail! When we pulled onto our street I noticed tree limbs down, mailboxes broken and in the driveway it was like drifts around the house. Hubby measured the ice by the front door and it was 13 inches deep!
We were so lucky not to have been home when it came through. Normally we keep the truck in the driveway, and with the amount of hail we had at the house I am sure we would have mega damage. We did clean out one side of the garage (the other side has the boat in in) and got our "baby" inside. If I had not lost weight, I never would have been able to get out of the door! Talk about a tight squeeze in the garage! But the baby will be protected at least for the night.
The hail stones weren't that big, about quarter size, but there was so much of it! It is almost 1:00 a.m. here and it still hasn't melted!
Needless to say, the animals (Tortie cat named K.C. for Kitty Cat and our Border Collie mix named Pepper) were very glad to see us!

WOW! Where do you live? I was driving back from Tampa tonight and got caught in this mess all the way from I-16 up through Waynesboro to Augusta! I couldnt see 2 feet in front of the car and it was coming down HARD! At one point the lightning looked like it was gonna strike us! The skies cleared up as we pulled into our driveway but now I hear thunder outside so I guess we about to go for round 2! I hope you didnt have any major damage!
Stay safe!!
