Insurance DENIED

Hey Everyone, I just got my letter from the insurance company....DENIED...in big letters!!  I didn't even know the surgeon's office was putting in the paperwork.  I was trying to collect my medical info to see about going that route.  The office told me that since I didn't have any comorbids that I would have to do the research and all first.  I guess it didn't happen that way.  I am sooooooooooo bummed out! Do lose hope...work with you PCP and get all the records(make sure to keep a copy of everything) Talk to your insurace company and see if there is a process for appeal....where there is a will there is a way...dont let it get you down...another suggestion is maybe go towards lapband rather then RNY...good luck Erica

Thanks!! It is so hard not to!! I will make sure I have copies for me as I had to go thru 20 years of stuff to get all the info.  My insurance doesn't cover the band-so it is RNY for me!! Thanks again!

One more thing I would add.  Talk it over with your PCP about your lack of co-mobidities.  You may have some you don't even know about.  Remember that back pain, knee pain, snoring, and even rashes and infections could be considered co-mobidities.  Good luck and keep trying.

I do have some of those things but not what the insurance company says I have to have---that was why I was trying to work on getting a letter from my PCM but the surgeon sent in the request before I got all the stuff together!! UGH!! Well I know if it is God's will then it will be done!! Thanks for the kind words...I really do appreciate them! 

dont get bummed out you know insurance companies have a thick book of rules when ever it comes to them spending out a lot of money #1 call your insurance company find out all the procedures ans steps you need to take #2 go back to your doctor with this information so that way they will know HOW to help you dont give up just be patient and take it ons step at a time
