Doctor Maynard no longer takes Medicare.  I think the expense of traveling and  all will be too much for me at this time.  I am going to check into the doctors who do the rny here in Atlanta on the 29th, and then try to make a decision.  I am afraid if I wait till I can afford to travel for the DS, these doctors might drop medicare patients too..  Thanks  Bernadette

Bernadette, Besides Dr. McQuire there's Dr. Peters in PA: Dr. Inman in Indy; Dr. Buchwald in Min; Dr. Panchard in Chicago; and Dr. Schweitzer in Maryland (tough criteria since Trailblazer is ther intermediary in that state); and Dr. Maynard...he's in Conyers, GA. I'm Medicare, too and it is diffiuclt to find a provider.  Medicare pays very little and therefore most of the docs I have listed are at teaching hospitals.   Best of luck to you in your search.  Unfortunatley there aren't many docs in the Southern half of the country that do the DS. I know that Dr. Rita Anderson just recently got her COE certification.  She's at newlifesurgery.org in Kettering, OH (just north of Cincinnati)
