Hi Becky! I'm employed by the State of Florida (Dept. of Law Enforcement). When I was trying to get approved I was kind of "boo-hoo'ing" to one of the BCBS representatives about the fast approaching cut-off date (Jan.1) and she specifically told me not to worry that the State Employees plan WILL NOT be excluding this procedure. I asked her why BCBS could cancel it after Jan.1 but BCBS State Employees could still cover it and she explained that each plan and the benefits it supplies are different. My suggestion, for clarification and to hear it first hand, contact BCBS of FL 1-800-825-2583 and inquire with regards to the State Employees plan. Or better yet, you could contact the Division of State Group Insurance-I can't seem to find theire number though-sorry Danielle

Thank you Danielle.... I only asked cause I have just recently heard that through my doctors office that I am using and just wondered how you might have known. I have been meaning to call BCBS and ???? them about this but it seems like when I do think about it I am too busy or it just too late. Most defintly though that is great information and I appreciate you sharing that with me. Hope things are well for you! Becky

I was talking to my psych that did my eveluation today and she was telling me that it was true about State Employees PPO still taking WLS. It made me happy to hear that of course. Anyways I just thought I would say that. NOw I am jsut waiting for the big consult day WOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Take care all my FL friends!! Becky
