Great time to start stressing again

So I had my gallbladder out right after Christmas.
They also did a liver biopsy then because they saw some enlarged veins around my liver.
They were checking for liver damage.  According to the biopsy results, there was no damage.

Today I get a letter from Kaiser approving me for out of plan medical treatment at UCSF
They apparently are referring me to a specialist there.  I had no idea this was happening or what was going on.  After they told me that the biopsy was o.k. I thought it was all over and done with.

I figured that is what the letter had to do with because I hadn't been treated for anything else recently.  I did a little web search to find out who the doctor is that they are referring me to and what it  is that he does at UCSF.

"Dr. Nathan Bass, medical director of the UCSF Liver Transplant Service for adults, is an internationally recognized expert in liver diseases and liver transplantation. He has been a member of the UCSF Liver Transplant Service since it was established in 1988."

So I fired off an email to my doctor to find out whats up.  Of course he isn't there at this time of night.

So now I'm going to stress until I hear from him, and probably continue to stress until I see this doctor.

Sorry just had to vent a bit.

Thanks Dan,

Hopefully it's just precautionary and an over reactive immagination on my part, but this kind of out of the blue **** just wrecks me.

Oh well, it is what it is.  I have a lot of running to do to keep my goal.
Hopefully I won't have to do a lot of makeup running.

Scott,
I know when my dr first diagnosed me with NASH she referred me to the Liver Transplant team at Cedar Siani here in Los Angeles. It was just a precation (sp?). Hopefully, thats all this is.

By the way, I sent some wrappers to you. The envelope was getting full.

Sending good thoughts to you

I finally got a call back from my doctor.
Oh sorry, I thought I had sent  you an email letting you know about the referral.

Basically he doesn't know what's wrong with me.  He said portal hypertension, but no idea why.  There is no sign of liver disease other than the enlarged veins around the liver.

So he wants the specialist to take a look at me.
