Back from the hospital and emergency surgery

Well, I had to go in ayesterday for surgery as the pain got worse. As suspected by my surgeon, I had a twisted bowel, but there was also quite a bit of scar tissue at the site of the bypass. He is also concerned that I could have Chron's Disease. What the heck is going on. Oh well. I am taking all this in stride, one day at a time. I will not be rushing into anything fitness wise. Going to wait till th epain is gone and we find out exactly whats going on. My surgeon told me the severity of these abdominal problems if they go untreated. Chad also told me of people who have died. If anyone has abdominal pains, please get it checked out as soon as possible. I know I may have sounded stupid for a race and I am ok with missing it. I will get my marathon completed and like Chad told me the other day, I can always get one in when I do an Ironman. Thank you all for all of your well wishes and keep Daring Greatly!

Take care of yourself, Darrell.  The races will still be there when you are healed.

Sorry to hear about your problems!  Glad to hear that you're on your way to healing.  Did you lose any of your bowels or were they able to save them all?  Serious stuff there, very serious.
Don't worry about the fitness stuff, it will all come back to you very quickly.  Focus on healing and getting better
