It's only normal if you haven't eaten....

I would probably try eating a bit more, and see if that helps before activity...

I don't think that this is what you are talking about but when I do long runs my appetite goes through the roof. That is normal.

Protein before working out, carbs after. Even if it's just a protein shake and a bagel. In fact, that's my normal routine, has been for almost four years now and I'm honestly never hungry during or after my workout.
"No matter how hard life may get, no matter how many curveballs you are thrown, keep in mind, if you want to succeed - QUITTING IS NOT AN OPTION"!!!
I always get hungry after I work out and there's generally a direct correlation for me between time, intensity, & hunger. I've also noticed that my body seems to digest the food quicker because the same amount of food will keep me full longer if it's not post-exercise versus if it is. Basically, I end up eating a little more on the days I work out than on the days I don't.
Exercise increases your basal metabolic rate, which basically means that your body burns calories at a higher rate for up to 8 hours after you work out, depending on the intensity & duration of the exercise - that's why you either eat more or you remain hungry!
