saturday workouts

NOTHING I planned today worked out.

Got to the gym to find ALL the fans with the spin class (only 7 people).  They moved the one from the treadmills for that class so there were none for anyone else.  So... upset as I was about my plans being messed up, I did 30 min of upper body strength training while I waited for the class to get over.

Now that I had the fan, things were going fine.  3.6 miles in 32 minutes, feeling good, when I had the urge to use the potty.  I left the fan on AND my iPod on the TM, but when I got out, the fan was moved and someone else was on the TM (there were others open).  I went and got my iPod from the TM and all the lady said was, "Oh, I didn't know anyone was on this."  She didn't bother asking me if I was done (which I wasn't - still had 2.4 miles to go).  So, since the fan got moved to a place not anywhere near the open TMs, I just got mad and went home.

I also hate the first of the year.  I go out of my way to be sure I'm there at times of day when these things won't be a problem.  But with so many new faces, it's much harder.  I decided to make a laminated sign that says I run many miles and often need to use the potty; I'll be back in a few minutes to finish my workout.  Hope it works.  I hate leaving my wonderful gym angry...

19 mile run. Last long run before Houston marathon in 2 weeks. I felt pretty good.

Early run this morning.  5.1 miles outside on a hilly course.  It was 17 degrees and 15-20 mph winds most of the run.   But it felt good getting back on the road and running with my running coach.  Tomorrow I join a new gym.

I waited until 7pm to go workout, thought I'd let the crowd thin out a bit.  I did ten miles on the stationary bike in thirty minutes with an average pace of 20mph.  I walked/ran 3.3 miles in 45 minutes and I did a complete upper and lower body weight workout.

I had one of my best workouts in months today.

1/4 mile W/U - 5 miles at 9:20 pace and 1/4 mile cool down.

I also did legs and some core work.

The best part was my weigh in.  I was 259 which is 8 pounds less than my first weigh in last year.

Good job Scott.  You've got 14 lbs on me and can totally out run my butt.  I can go the distance but I just can't do it quickly....right now anyway.

I overslept and missed my group run at 0800. I had to run by myself and did 2.25 outside flat with rollong hills. I am working my way back up to 4 miles. This is the first 2.25, last week was 2.0 miles; three times. It is getting better again.
