Today was a 2-mile run on the treadmill, followed by a 45-minute spin class.

I need to run just 23 miles by Dec. 31 to reach 1,000 miles for the year.

What did y'all do today?

Did 6.5 miles today @ a 9 min pace.

Congrats Cassie!!  Looks like you will hit your goal!!   1000 miles is my goal for next year.   This year I will end up hitting around 875 miles.

I froze outside doing 4.5 miles.  It was great.  I really love the cold weather.  After the run I headed up to the gym to get in a fast 45-minute spin class.  That's it for today.  Next year is going to be a lot more work with a personal trainer, and fewer classes.  It's been a great year so far.

Congratulations on your 1,000 mile mark.  Quite an accomplishment with your injuries this year.

Upper body at the gym.  My exercise ball arrived from Amazon so I am stoked.  I also orderd some Jillian Michaels DVD's that I hope will kick bootie in the cardio dept.

2.2 miles on the tm.  It was supposed to be a rest day yet I really pushed it.

Wow Cassie, the thought of running 1000 miles in a year stopped me in my tracks.  I'd never thought of something like that.  Is the 1K mark what most "real" runners shoot for?  That's very impressive to me.  I think that you've just given me something else to consider and to use as a goal setting tool.  Maybe not 1000 miles but something lofty from my prespective.  Congratulations to you!

Thanks Duane,

The 1,000 mile goal earns me my jacket with the local running club.  For every 1,000 miles per year after that, members receive a chevron to add to the jacket.  I'm fortunate because running has really become a big part of my social life, so it's easier to get in those miles with friends.  The goal keeps me moving forward even if I'm not training for a particular event.

Cassie,

How did you find your running club?

1 hour of running with 12 200 meter sprints scattered through the middle portion of the run.

Hey Cassie,

How hard was it to get there.  I have a similar goal for next year.  I want to average a 3 miles each day.  Not run one necessarily as I will have longer races and run days, but average 3 miles.
