RNY. I've been thinking of gastric for about 2 1/2 years. Finally decided to ahead with it since I found out that my thyroid is causing a slow mo' reaction to me losing weight. That is sooo frustrating. I loose 5 and gain 5 plus 2 more. I'll be finished with my weight pcp visits end of May.

Topic: RE: Girl from Cali needs a pen pal
There was one person in the hosptial when I was there that was from Bakersfield. He stayed in a motel for 3 days after being released from the hospital. Don't know about the drainage tube. I had one, as I had my gallbladder taken out at the same time. I'm glad to hear that you will be attending support groups. You could start now......they will help to answer your questions. As for the weight loss, everyone is different. I'm about 2 1/2 months out and I've lost 49 pounds. Just keep up the walking and the exercising.

It is definitely interesting. I imagine it could help. After surgery, you need to keep up the walking and movement of your legs to discourage blood clots. So, it would probably be a good investment. I just periodically walked around my back yard.

Morning,
I was looking at more catagories on OH and saw this program. Seems like fun and even more support.
My ques. is, do you have to wait to sign up once you have insurance approval?
My ins. requires a 6 month weight managament with PCP. I'm currently in month 2 and June/July will be my approval month.
