Hi everyone; I am looking for a penpal my age, I will be getting my RNY on March 18th, 2011. I live in Ottawa, Canada. I am 61 years old, not in such great health. Would like to find people who like me, has all kinds of issues with arthritis and bum knees. I find it very hard to find older folk who has had or is waiting on this surgery. Am I the only older person scared about this surgery? I have had a lot of other surgeries before but nothing like this one, where my entire way of eating will be changed with NO possibility of going back. Has anyone ever questioned themselves about this surgery before actually getting it. Is anyone out there afraid of being the 1% of those who do not make it through this surgery or am I the only one to be worried. Thanks

Hello there,
I don't have a surgery date yet but I am thinking late spring or early summer (May, June, July). I would love to have someone to email to help me through the process. I was not nervous until I got my appointment with the surgeon. I have been going through the process for about 2 years now and can't believe I'm finally at this point! I am meeting with the surgeon on Wednesday and hope to have a surgery date shortly thereafter.
As far as my interests I like to make candles, movies, watching TV, playing games, reading/writing. I am from San Diego, CA and I am 33 years old.
