Hi Dawn,I joined ObesityHelp not long after I had my first appointment with my surgeon. I haven't participated much because I really didn't know what to do. As I am getting closer I'm receiving wonderful emails from ObesityHelp directing me to the various levels of support available on the site.
I too am looking for email pals and support for my very recent RNY surgery on March 14, 2011. My interested include reading/writing, games, pets, internet/computers, meeting people, walking, electronic gadgets. I love life and people. Talking is problably my favorite passtime.
I am almost 49 yrs old. In my heart I don't feel that old, I don't look that old but I feel the my weight issues make me physically feel my age and I refuse to let that happen. That was the determining factor to start this journey. Explain more as we become friends. Hope to hear from you soon.

My surgery is Tuesday 15, 2011...I'm trying to find a penpal for support and to discuss problems, frustrations etc.!

I had VSG last April and have done great! I would love to lend you support and maybe give you some tips that I have learned along the way!

I am new to this too. I have already been seeing a nutritionist, and have my first consultation with my surgeon. I believe it will be easier to get through all of this with support from new friends and fellow WLS patients. I have decided on the RNY, what surgery are you looking into, or decided on? Hi there! I've been to other sites but have to say this one seems like the 'right fit' for me! This is my last month of seeing the nutritionist and then I wait for the light to turn green! I'll be having VSG surgery.
I'm in my mid 40's and am looking to make some new friends who have had or are going to have surgery so we can support each other through words of encouragement, growls of frustration and just knowing there is someone else going through the same thing as you are.
