I watched and was kind of disappointed by the lack of time and info Dr. Oz gave to the subject...
I'm currently reading a very informative book "Treating and Beating Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome" by Dr. Rodger H. Murphree
He is a local practicing specialist in Alabama who gives his patients (my mother) a copy.
Maybe Amazon carries it?

Hello,

I am new to this forum but can certainly relate to your message. I don't have any useful advice on what to do, as I am in a similar situation. I can only offer you support that you are not alone in your struggle. I am struggling to stick with an exercise program, as my job pretty much drains all my energy. Then, because I'm in pain and exhausted, I eat the foods that are easy to prepare, are available quickly, or taste really good for a mental "boost" (chocolate, sweets), and these are never healthy foods. I am gaining weight again and it is freaking me out big time. I feel depressed over the weight gain yet seem unable to get out of the vicious cycle.

I am currently on a 2 month medical leave from work, and my goal is to build up my stamina with an exercise program and eating better while I have a break from work. Anyway, just know you are not alone, and by supporting each other, maybe we can turn things around. My weight history//goals are: heaviest weight: 250lbs, lowest weight post-op: 150 lbs, current weight: 180 lbs, goal weight: 160-165 lbs.

Hi,
I have taken a test for something like this.  I posted it on this website a few months back.  I can't remember what the title was.  Scroll through the previous topics it might say it.  But, I answered 87/142 for Fibro/CFS.  It also mentioned on that website about diet too, that affects the disorder.  I will check this one and see if the test is the same.  Thanks for the info.  Kristy

Topic: RE: Disability & Meds
I think that if the meds aren't working well enough to make it half way comfortable to work then you would still qualify for disability. I could be wrong but I think there is such a thing as a partial disability too. I have a friend with back problems but even his hard core meds don't make it possible for him to work. In fact his meds are so strong he couldn't work and take them because they affect his ability to function well. So just the fact that you are still having difficulty with fatigue should still qualify for some amount of disability. Best of luck!!

Topic: Disability & Meds
I was wondering how can a person get disability when they use meds to help them feel better, but continue to try to get disability?  Won't the disability group say, "Well, if you are using meds to feel better, then you can work and you feel good so you can't get disability."  Or......do you not take your meds to help with the case?  I am just curious, cuz there are days when I used to feel like my meds won't work forever or can't afford them.  But I can work now, just the fatigue is killing me sometimes.  Please help..................thank you in advance.  Kristy
