Upcoming DS Surgery Dates!
Ok so my two year journey is finally coming to a end. I started the bariatric surgery process two years ago then I got thrown in a box and placed under a desk and was forgotten about and was told to try more weight loss programs after already trying 6 in the last 4yrs. So I got some help from my pcp assistant who then started the ball rolling for me again by getting the Auth. from my insurance provider.
I then started doing my research on surgeons and after looking at 10 different ones and considering going out of California to have the surgery done I found the perfect Dr. right here in San Francisco. I contacted his office and the help there was amazing they were pleased to help me and told me everything I needed to do to prepare and even gave me a timeline of how long the process generally takes before surgery. Now I'm 5'8" tall and around 400lbs (ughhhh) so I'm excited that I'm alot closer to having surgery than I was two years ago. I've completed all of my appointment except the seminar and my appointment with the surgeon.
I originally wanted the RNY but then decided not to then I wanted the LapBand and realized that there was something out there much better and suitable for me than those two which is the DS. So I meet with the surgeon on April 26 and hoping that all goes well from there as I'm ready to get my life back.

Judy, hoping all goes well. Are you ready? I was so nervous going into the surgery and worried that I could not lose the weight even after. I had never been hugely successful at losing a lot of weight. I had lost 50 or 70 pounds many, many times....but now I had to lose 200! Loving my new DS 16 months post op. Hang in there and keep us updated! Good luck. Will be praying for you and thinking of you.
Thanks
Brenda
