OMG!!!!!! That's the year I got married and my bridesmaids wore something VERY similar. Theirs had a pretty lace overlay and were short  (it was a HOT July wedding). Good times, good times!!!

Maybe a lace overlay would have softened the shine factor. Who knew tin foil came in pink?

OMG....You could have have been one of my BFFs in 88.  My red-headed partner in crime Venus ( she was a beauty or else her name could have been a source of torment....lol) ...she wore a dress similar to yours except it was metalic green....LOL    Thanks for the trip down memory lane.

Now, you have inspired me......I would so go out in that dress. I'm that kind of wacko too...you know the kid that dressed up as the blood drop for Red Cross drives and could still be cool...Well I was a legend in my own mind, I suppose.... LOL

Now you have me thinking.....I'm freaking thinner than I was at the 88 prom, 2001 wedding, all those milestones.  Maybe I could take a bit of fabric from each (yes I saved them too....LOL)  and design a new frock?  I was thinking before my DS that I would like to renew my vows for our 10 yr anniversary  in a new wedding gown but that's more than 2 yrs away ..well, .there's always my 40th birthday bash...which shhhhh DH doesn't know I'm already planning my surprize party.  So what it is almost a year and a half away, any excuse to celebrate, right sista!

Love ya,
G

I KNOW I am from the 1980s, but "a new frock?" What decade are YOU from?? LOL

I think making a dress out of some oldies but goodies is a good idea! I'd love to see what you come up with!

Yeah, I was always an "old soul" lol   Well, I didn't really know my size in HS either...just knew I was bigger than all my friends.   So, I climbed up to my attic  (that before my DS would have be impossible too) and tried the damn thing on....OMG....Freaking hillarious fun.  Thank you.  I'm not showered but I may come back for a photo op.  I remember Slyvia posted a photo in her prom dress and I agree with Kayla that would be a mad fun post.

So, I'm guessing in HS I was about 180lbs and a size 16/18 in senior year.  Now, I'm 167 and 12/14 . The prom gown is big except in the damn hips.......well my 17yr old body had some advantages.  Youth and pre-child bearing hips LOL     Thanks so much that was way more fun than cleaning up my house.

Love,
G

Wow! I was 11 in '88, but I can still hear MC Hammer...
I was bigger than I am now for my prom in '94 and '95, and my dresses were rid years ago, so I don't have anything to try on.
But you look FABU!!!!
Here in Dayton once a year they have an 80's prom. You and hubby should make the trip in for it! That would be great! I was thinking of going all Madonna style with big hair and everything.

You look great!!!! BLUE HEAVEN IS A PLACE ON EARTH!!!!
