1988 Was a Very Good Year--check me out in my shiny prom dress!

Okay, I have to laugh. I cannot even BELIEVE I am posting this. Today, I got it into my head to try on my 1988 PROM DRESS, and it actually FIT!!!

It is as "lovely" as I remembered, let me tell you. If you listen carefully, you can hear the sound of "Never Gonna Give You Up" and "Faith" playing in the background. Good times. LOL.

I vowed before I got my DS that when I fit this shiny, silly dress, my husband and I were going to go out and celebrate at a nice restaurant. With me wearing the dress....oh yes, I will do it, I'm that kind of wacko.

I was able to zip it, but a few more pounds (and Spanx) would make it more comfy. So, we will hit the town soon in this oh-so-fashionable frock. I will keep you posted, gentle readers.

I submit for your enjoyment...a photo of me in my prom dress, taken by my 6-year old today. BTW, my son thought I looked "fancy" and he wants to go on the date with me. My husband told him to "get your own girl, buddy!"

I had the kick-butt duodenal switch (DS)!

Oh, honey, I had the Dyeables to match! They were donated to a worthy charity years ago, but somehow, the dress knew to hang around for this golden moment.

You're rocking that prom dress! You look so awesome that Tom Cruise (before we went crazy) would have asked you to be his prom date. :-D

When I lost wait about 10 years ago I was able to fit into my prom dress again, but it wasn't such a big deal because I was a size 20 for my prom. *blush*

You look great!  I would never have the guts to wear that out in public now but more power to you, you should get some great looks, have fun!

If it were me I would want to celebrate with a new 'fancy' dress

I think what's funnier is that I have to have it drycleaned first. THAT should be fun to explain to the woman at the dry cleaners. Oh, they see everything odd, I'm sure.
