I haven't been working out much lately. I've been very active, just not at the gym. Today I will go though, or swim. We are going to go to a ballgame tonight so we will have to hit the gym this afternoon, which isn't fun when its so hot, so we may swim instead. Plus we don't have to drive anywhere to do that.

Due to the brief cloudburst downtown yesterday, the Rockies had a doubleheader today.  I don't think I'd like sitting at the ballpark for six hours, even if the Rockies dogs are quite tasty!
Did your team win?

You have a pool at your complex?  How nice!

We left a little before it was over, but yes they won.  It was an okay evening, but it was dollar beer night and people were starting to get a little stupid by the seventh.

So far I have twirled around 2 depts at work - my own dept to do a little MBWA, checking in with the guys who are working on my projects. Then up to the next floor (I did ride the elevator) but I walked all around the floor where my customers are, checking on with those who have had questions or problems lately. That's much more walking around than usual.

Tonight I plan to swim again.

Update: Didn't make it to the pool as I spent a looong time on the phone with the Free & Clear (quitting smoking) coach. I hope I'm not trying this too soon in my journey, but my laps yesterday really were impacted by the phleghm I cough up. Yuck. Anyway, I'm feeling all twirly and confident, so I finally made the call to them. I need to go through the F&C program to have my Chantix Rx covered by my insurance.

Ok, home from the leadership seminar and I did 1 hour of the shoulder/arm workout from the P90X infomercial.  It was a really great workout and I only had 2.5 pound weights so I just did extra reps over and above what they did on the tape.

I went to the gym and did 30 minutes of fat burning program on the treadmill, and also did my lower body work (I do it every day since I want to keep my quads strong).  I didn't do my daily ab work because the ab machines were occupied and I was tired of waiting.

I have messed up my foot somehow (I'm thinking it's the stair climber machine I started using this week) and my arch is quite annoyed and sore.  I hope I haven't done anything serious like annoyed the fascia, I don't want to start having those problems.  My gym shoes are kind of beat up and I should probably invest in a new pair.

Tomorrow is my long gym day (treadmill and full body strength training).

I'm going to the speech too!! At least, the last I heard I am. I have a friend who does tons of volunteer work for the dems and she was offered as many tickets as she wants and lucky me got included!  And it will be in the VIP type section, so I'm psyched.

I have so many friends who are die-hard republicans and they cringe when I talk about going - I just keep pointing out that this has nothing to do with parties but everything to do with history. I never would of thought that in my lifetime a black man would be the democratic nomination for president, it's HUGE!!

As for working out, it was weights day for me. I'm sore today too, it's been a few weeks since I did them and I'm feeling it today!

My late grandmother, who voted for every Democrat in every election since she became a US citizen, saw JFK at the SLC Tabernacle when he was running for president.  I don't know how she did it (I'm thinking she used the "old lady" ploy  ), but she sat in the front row and was awed at how wonderful he was.  "It didn't even matter that he was Catholic." she said.  Oy!

Hard to remember in those days that someone's Catholicism was seen as a potential barrier to being president.  I hope someday that a person's gender, or race, or whatever religion they choose to practice isn't seen as an impediment to being president.

I heard the community credentials were first come, first served, and I logged in right away after the announcement was made, so I hope to get them.  Lucky you, I don't know anyone here who is active in politics!
