Gym is Open (Wobbly Wednesday 7/23)
Uhhh...I'm the first one to post! That's amazing. Where's Karen?
My body is mad at me for what I did to it yesterday with the alternating fast-walk, jog every 4 minutes. My quads are sore, my deltoids are sore, my traps and abdominals as well as my calves!
I DID NOT want to go to the gym this morning. I even called my husband for some moral support. I told him to tell me to get my "fat ass" in the gym, and he wouldn't say it. He's such a sweetie! He would only say to get my ass in the gym.
I had little motivation and lacked focus on my workout.
15 minutes on the elliptical - no hill program
15 minutes on the recumbant crosstrainer - level 10 so I did ok on that
15 minutes on recumbant bike at level 9
I still sweat my butt off today. But I was not motivated at all.
Hope everyone has a great day today!

2-a-day for me, Kix. Lower body strength training and core work at lunch, then 45-60 minutes of cardio after work. Although if I can leave work a little early, I may try to make the 5:30 p.m. yoga class, since I missed yoga yesterday. Regardless, I'm hitting the gym twice today!!!
What are you doing? How's the knee/foot???

I keep forgetting to post my exercise!
Mon - swimming for an hour, varying levels of intensity but I did get a workout and some very good stretching
Tues - 1hr session with trainer at the gym, mostly weight machines and also a billion squats it felt like. She also put me on the tread climber, which was ok but made me nervous. I am very sore today.
Wed - I am very sore today. Very very sore. I may go to the pool, but if I do I probably will only swim lightly or just float there and moan LOL

So, are you still wobbeling around, or has the knee improved? Curious minds want to know
My knee is better, so today I decided to test it out at spinning class. It hurt, but I got through it and it felt fine at the end. So, I think I am good to go for this weekend. I can't believe it's almost here! Although, it's kind of funny - I've been trying to eat tons of carbs, so many that I am totally sick of them! And for the life of me I cannot hit the 50-70% carbs that they recommend, I can barely get 40% in. My blood sugar issue just won't let it happen, but I keep trying.
the really funny part... I mentioned before that if I did this right I would gain up to 5 pounds in preparation for the race. Guess what? I've lost 2 pounds - figures that when I'm not trying to lose weight, that I actually lose it.
Only 3 more days left! I'm nervous, excited, tired and overwhelmed by the whole thing. I usually just shake my head and think "what have I done?" I just hope that I finish without looking like a totally knob head.

I checked out a bunch of exercise DVDs geared for old farts and looked at a bunch of them today. I didn't like most of them, but Leslie Sansome's "Walk and Firm for Older Adults" looked promising. My sister used to do Leslie's "Walk Away the Pounds" (which I tried and it nearly killed me with all that marching!).
I gave the DVD a go today and after 20 minutes I was whipped! I think this DVD is geared for older folks who use steroids, because it was pretty vigorous. I did like it, though, so I may buy a copy.
My knee is still sore, but at least I can hobble around. It gets more sore as the day wears on, but I managed to do 20 minutes of DVD exercise, plus I went to the store to pick up some tasty salmon on sale, did some light yardwork, and then sanded the drywall in the bathroom before we put on the last round of drywall compound. I think we're texturing the walls this weekend.
