Calorie Countdown - What are you eating on Tuesday?

Hi peeps

I made yummy yummy pork chops last night, I seasoned them with garlic powder, salt, pepper, and pumpkin pie spice (ginger, cinnamon, cloves I think).  Then I sauteed them in a mixture of a little butter and olive oil.  Finally I coated them with a light glaze of honey and grey poupon.  They were fork tender and subtlely sweet.  Instead of the salad I'd planned I served them with a sauteed apple/onion mixture that was seasoned with a little pumpkin pie spice also, and some lemon juice.  The tartness of the apples and lemon really combined well with the sweet/savory pork.  I was proud of my invention :)

Tuesday we have a lot planned, its Ryan's day off.  We plan to go out for a late breakfast - I will probably order fruit and maybe oatmeal, but I might go crazy and have a bite of Ryan's german apple puffed pancake thing.  Then we will see The Dark Knight (just because people keep going on and on about it, so I feel like I should have an opinion).  Then we have an appt with the apartment to sign our new lease, and an appointment with the gym trainer for a free hour session.  (I think she's bored).  After we tell her no on her sell, I will make bean and cheese enchiladas for dinner probably and then my husband promised to give me a manicure and pedicure (we'll see how that goes, he's never painted nails) and a massage (with lotion even).  He wants me to feel pampered or something.

Well I'm for it!  (another reference to the same movie that no one got yesterday - The Hudsucker Proxy, one of my all-time faves)

I hope everyone has a happy Tuesday and that we all make smart food and exercise choices.  List the food here, and post the exercise in Kix's gym (a little cross promotion for our friend Wounded Knee).

Oh also at some point I've got to mail some stuff and drop off a car payment and pay some bills online.  Boo for bills!

Hmm - It sounds like you have a great day planned Jenn!  I'll be jealous while I'm toiling away at work.

I got a lot of things at the grocery store yesterday, but most of it is new food to pouchie so I don't want to try it at work and risk getting sick.  So, I will probably stick with the usual:  string cheese and applesauce for breakfast, toast and peanut butter for lunch, and for dinner I will try one of my Lean Cuisine dinners (if I actually bought one with chicken or turkey) - I actually am pretty sure that I bought a WW dinner with chicken so yep, that'll be dinner (or part of it will be).

Have a good day.

Hi, Jen.  Pork sounds tasty, and your day sounds fabulous - a lot of good energy for you today.

Some of the drama in my personal life came to a head yesterday, so my belly's in knots.  I have no appetite and no interest in food, but am trying to make myself eat to keep my protein numbers up, since plastic surgery is (hopefully) right around the corner.  The only upside is that I've dropped yet more weight -- currently at 178 -- but right now I'm not finding any joy in that.  Anyway, here's my plan for the day - hopefully I'll manage to eat most of this... edited to reflect actual totals for the day - did manage to eat more than I'd been able to for the past few days...

Breakfast:  1 c. 1% milk in my coffee, 1 packet Quaker Weight Control oatmeal

Snack #1:  1 c. lowfat cottage cheese, 4 tbsp. sugarfree preserves, 2 oz. blueberries, 3 oz. strawberries

Those pork chops sound really good.

We had turkey tenderloin on the grill last night and it was so moist.  We've cooked several larger roast type things on the grill and it beats the oven hands down.  Yesterday I hit 1000 calories on the head.  Never done that before.  That's where my NUT wants me.  I feel like I should get a prize or something.

B - SBD high protein cereal bar

S - 1/4 c pistachios

L - Either salad w/grilled chicken or SBD Kung Pao chicken

D - Left over turkey tenderloin.  Tonight I'll just make a salad out of it.  Last night I used a carb balance tortilla with cheese crumbles, sour creme, and home made pico de gallo.  It was soooo good.

S - NSA fudgesicle

How are you feeling these days???

Doing good, some minor aches but not as tired. I feel as though I'm about to start my period ... strange to me, but Dr says I'll go through that until menopause because I still have the ovaries.

Thanks for asking!

Dunny, I wish I'd had more notice about you and Ryan going to see "The Dark Knight."  My sister has been nagging me half to death to go see it (she will not do stuff by herself, the weirdo!) and I have no interest at all in seeing it.  It's almost worth me using my free ticket on Southwest to send her backside to San Antonio!

I let her drag me to see "Wanted" (what a stinker of a movie, I asked her if she knew it was so bad!).  I do want to see Heath Ledger as the Joker, but the rest of it, I can take it or leave it.

Your pork chops sound so delicious it makes me wish I could tolerate pork.  The pork chops I make for my sister are very simple compared to yours.  I season thin pork chops with kosher salt and fresh ground pepper, then fry in very hot olive oil for 1.25 minutes on each side.  This gives them a nice crust but still keeps the meat fork tender.  I love it because it's easy and she gobbles them right up.

My knee is slightly better today (at least I can walk on it for short periods of time), so I will try to go to the store (we'll see how it goes, as my car has manual transmission and my wounded knee is attached to my clutch foot) and pick up something for dinner for my sister.  I feel like trying my protein drinks every 1.5 hours.

For the record, I have tried to watch Hudsucker Proxy numerous times and just can't get there. I dont' know why, because I love Tim Robbins.  The beginning of the movie is riveting, but then my brain fades.  I felt the same way about Brazil when it came out in the 80s.  Sometimes those brilliant movies just WHOOSH right past you, huh?

Not only BOO on bills, I'll throw in a HISS, too.

Have a fun day, and please note that my toes curled right up under my foot at the thought of a pedicure.  BRR.
